    wow!

  • eager2own

Granted that any comparison to Jan ’07 sales is deceptive — there wasn’t much going on then.

But the comparison of Feb. sales is pretty impressive.

    Recession? What Recession?

If the gas prices keep going up, I wont even have a MINI in the showroom to look at! Wait, I think that is a good problem to have ;)

February figures are not very high compared with many months last year and previous … See here for details

February figures are not very high compared with many months last year and previous …

I think what people are saying is that it’s high for February in general. Not necessarily high for any one month. In most of the country February is one of the slowest months for selling cars.

So do we know how many new Clubmans were delivered to customer’s hands?

Exactly, as those numbers Ian provided indicate, this is the highest sales volume in a February. Granted, this is largely due to 700 sales of the Clubman — but still a good February.

I think it is still the people plucking up the last S’s with the supercharger… If I had the assets I would buy ten of them

I fielded two invested inquiries yesterday. First at the bank and then at the pump. Top on the list, MPG. Then pricing.

I’m not too sure of that. I don’t know if those are even tracked anymore. either way, the last month for which R53 numbers were give, Sept. 07, only shows 4 . . . so not what’s driving Feb. 08 sales.

  • c4

It has to be Clubman deliveries then. Do we have a breakdown of total Clubman sales for Feb?

  • robble

shoulda realized conspiracy theories would abound. LoL

  • eager2own

Clubman – 703. Look at the data provided by Ian C.

  • ontheroadagain

It will be interesting to see what the future months bring for the Clubman. Ours is on order, I put my order in the last week of February with an eye to a May delivery. Am assuming that my sale will be reflected in May’s figures.

What I would love to know is the financial incentives to dealerships for taking MINI trade ins towards new MINIs. In May, I’ll be guilty of taking this route twice, both times much, much sooner than I ever would have considered doing before. Of course there are a variety of reasons people choose to trade in their MINIs, for newer model MINIs… It seems that there are quite a few “pre-owned” MINIs out there.

I suppose I am just thinking out loud on all of this but I do think the Clubman will do quite well in the USA as more and more people realize how insane it is to drive huge guzzlers when they can have more fun and get the extra added benefits of saving money and feeling somewhat more smug about their “carbon foot print”. (Believe me, I know we have a long way to go to really improve our carbon foot prints!)
