Having participated in the MTTS 2006 in NJ and CT, I can wholeheartedly say well done to MINI USA for organizing this format for 2008.

I did send in a request to have the six speed gear shift map the country, looks like we have second third fifth and six but no first and fourth, aka washington state and lower mid west.

But I can say that a couple of days with MTTS 2008 was almost enough, three days will be perfect, so kudos to MINI USA.

The events are fun and the MINI USA team a great bunch of folks, they know how to party for sure.

cheers

Brewswapguy-----"They’d better alternate in the future and hit some Cities more in the middle."

In the middle of What?? The demographic center, or the geographic center? You have 3 major cities in that could be considered near "the middle" Chicago, Kansas City, and St Louis. An event was hosted in St Louis for MTTS. Seems to me Chicago is a quite logical choice for 2008, it is accessible from any direction. And isn't "Motoring" the whole point, get in the MINI and drive, cause ya can't please everyone, and ya can't have every event in your own backyard, where would the fun in that be?

TS...You have a right to your opinion but..... I don't agree with your assessment of why they can't do it on one day.

Seems each dealer could anti up what's needed? What's needed???? Some scantily clad MINI Girlz, some MINI balloons, some MINI food, a band maybe and a track to race on? Seems to work for the 4th of July, New Years, Christmas, Chanukah, St Paddy's Day, Supper Bowl aren't they all on all one day? Seems... it would be kinda kool to have some big screen TV's at each venue and a master of ceremonies, maybe Hammer & Coop, seems they could use the work, to connect us all to one event? Seems there could be competitions between the cities? Like how many MINI' are attending, stupidest looking MINI, Hammer look alike or whatever the MINI Brain Trust came up with? Seems the smart people at the design agency that does all the MINI stuff here in the USA could get off their bums, since I don't see many MINI commercials or anything, and figure out some fun stuff we all could do?

But then I like eggs so I must be wrong. LOL

Hey, TS, weren't you a 2nd baseman for the Dodgers back in the '60's ? ;-)

We're talking MINI USA, not BMW USA. The MINI corporate group is actually fairly small compared to BMW's in this country. When we asked the corporate organizers for MTTS 2006 how many people it took to put the whole event on, they indicated that they pulled it off with a suprisingly small staff.

Having seperate events on seperate weekends allows the MINI USA concentrate their efforts at each venue. If you had all the events across the country all on the same weekend, you would spread the MINI crew pretty thin, which could definitely affect the quality of the events.

I think with one location each weekend you're going to see something along the lines of MINI United at each city. I doubt you would see that if they tried to hold four events separated by thousands of miles all at the same time.

Seems to me, since this is not a "Road Trip", they could have had them all on the same date and had all their dealerships across the USA sponsor events? One big MTTS party. Do they actually think many MINI owners will try and connect the dots to these different cities? I mean it would be fun to try and I'm sure some MINIACs will try.
