Ive always felt it’s a little disingenuous to draw on the BMC rally years – the Works cars were actually from MG’s Abingdon race shop, where even the Big Healey rally cars were developed and maintained, but there is a continuity of thought and style from back then to now, so it’s a not BS at all. Aaltonen brings some heritage with him, tho, and if anybody has a legitimate opinion on what’s a descendant from those days, I’ll take his word. If the modern WRC rules were re-written to be as scrupulously dead stock as back in Rauno, Timo, and Paddy’s heyday, I bet the modern Cooper ‘S’ would kick ass.

A really nice touch showing the classic Mini - even the toy ones.

Its a real sign of confidence and maturity that MINI can look to its past, regardless of its corporate owners (now and then).

Still good to see the video's from the show. Funny though as a performance car enthusiast the only one that raised my interest on the stage was the classic #45 sitting proudly next to its rather bloated cousins lol.
