I used a plastic trim removal tool to get the e-brake boot out. You will probably break at least a couple clips, your first try but if your replacing it, no big deal. The shift boot is pretty easy. If you feel around the lip of the boot you will find 3-4 clips. Once you get one of them undone, the rest are easy.

Check out this website, this guy did a nice job on a HOW TO for them both.

No they don't. That's what the eye graphic looking at the TIS is for. It means look at the service database....

And if they assume people know how to do the swap, why make a how to at all? I guess it's so you know where to place the sticker.

I think they assume anyone attempting this (and remember this is meant for technicians) that they already know how to remove and replace both for the most part.

What a joke of a how to from Mini. The only hard part is geting the clips off the e-brake boot thing, and there's no information on that.

So not Modnar, you're not on crack...

There seems to be only a parts list for the boots (which is more what I was interested in), but no actual install instructions. Or maybe I'm just on the crack again.

I recently install the shift knob, e-brake handle, and both leather boots. I really love the feel of the shift knob and to boots really are a big upgrade from the OEM vinyl. Didn't like the idea of gluing the e-break handle on but I wanted a complete look so I went with it anyway.
