This distinguished from the other BRG cars(British Racing Green - all British cars raced in this colour - from Lotus which had gold trim, and others. Other Countries like France raced blue, Italy - red, USA - white, etc). This was before sponsorships livery came along. When JC raced his Mini Cooper team the cars adopted his team colours and stripes.
