Shortly after we reported on the WC50, Todd was able to connect with Gabe during his weekend to talk about the car and a little bit about MINI United.
There is still more to come gang! We’ve got interviews with owners, Dr. Armbrecht and others that will be coming later in the week.

This past week was as busy as it gets. We had three world debuts, some huge scoops (Rolls MINI anyone?) and a ton of interviews with some of the largest names in the MINI world. Here’s a quick list of the highlights.
We at MotoringFile have always been big supporters of putting your car keys away and not driving every so often. As much as I love to drive, personally I take public transportation almost exclusively during the week. Todd has a walkable commute and DB, well he sorta needs to drive living in Southern California. But regardless the idea of not driving everywhere isn’t new to us. So when MINI USA asked us if we’d be interested in supporting their new “Let’s Not Motor Day” campaign, we jumped at the chance.
Idea is to simply go to miniusa.com/#/play/letsNotMotor and pledge the miles you won’t be driving. A pretty radical idea for a car company we thought. It’s also a nice message for the brand to make.
No matter how environmentally friendly MINIs generally are, taking a day off of driving is a great idea for a lot of reasons. Less smog in the air, more gas in the pumps and less cars (even though their small) on the roads. Sounds like a great idea to us. And apparently to others as they already have over 100,000 miles pledged!
You can pledge your own non-driven miles below and join us on June 5th.
We had the chance to interview Michael Hoehn, Director of MINI Challenge Development. It’s a great piece for all those interested all that goes into the MINI Challenge.
Still to come is our interview with the Technical Director for the MINI Challenge as well as Dr. Armbrecht from MINI AG.

The first MINI E has been delivered to a lucky owner in Southern California. Lucky for us, he has a blog!
The very first MINI E has been delivered to its very first customer. I am excited and humbled to report that the first MINI E was delivered to me this past Friday. As you will read below, these last few days have been a thrilling kick-off to my one year pioneering experience. There have been many pleasant surprises along the way including a very special car number – 111. Pictured above is my MINI E #111 on my front lawn near sunset this evening (more pictures will follow soon). However, being first to get the car means that I will be the first to return the car one year from now – but I’ll try not to think about that right now.
So far his impression is very positive. Click through to subscribe or read. I will be adding this to the MF News Room today as well.
Official Release: Driving the MINI is simply fascinating – time and again. But the unique feeling so typical of the MINI goes much, much further. And to express his or her passion for unmistakable style also off the road, the genuine enthusiast will find lots of options in the MINI Collection. continued →
Another fantastic interview with the head of MINI design, Gert Hildebrand. You want to pay special attention to this one, especially when Gert starts talking colors.
