If you read the PDF, that says that no coding is required. I'm interested in a price point as well....

Also, I'm curious as to how the output of the control unit works.... This could be mounted on many a car, but electrical integration is a whole nother ball of wax. If the control unit is what beeps, then all it needs is to know that the car is in reverse and on and integration into almost anything would be very easy.

I've been waiting for them to release the right (USA) adapter for the FRONT PDC (this one)... maybe we're one step closer now? :)

no doubt it will require re-installing software on the dealer's terminal..

I have experienced some issues on BMW models with bumper PDC sensors being triggered by license plate frames which interrupt the scan angle when fitted by dealers and owners. The angle is wide enough to pick up an object as a plate frame.
This MINI solution seems ideal for a retrofit situation. The BMW instructions should be easy enough to follow by a person with technical knowledge.
I think you will still have to go to a dealer to get activation on service machine.

I wonder how accurate it is compared to the original setup with 4 or 6 sensors mounted much lower on the bumper area...

I wonder how much it costs? From the instructions it looks like it wouldn't be too hard to retro fit to any car.
