Tomorrow morning at 9 am CET/3 am EST MINI will be debuting its highly anticipated Speedster concept at the Frankfurt IAA and as you’d expect we will have world debut right here. That is unless some “other” site breaks the press embargo first.

I’m excited and look forward to Friday.
The Frankfurt dealer where I bought by MCS 5 years ago has invited us once again to a special night at the MINI booth on Friday. So I can see all the good stuff myself.

It’s good timing as well as I just sold my MCS yesterday shedding many tears when it drove away…

The Speedster is going to be better looking, I have no doubt about that. Still I know which one will perform better. Should be interesting to see if they can try to keep the weight on the Speedster down. Convertibles tend to add weight, and how they deal with the rigidity of the body. Have a lot of dislike the way most convertibles twist under hard acceleration.

It’s already tomorrow in some part of the world.

Here’s also hoping that it has a better looking top than the Coupe, I need to start thinking about my next car and I want another roadster. This could work if it looks nice.

Relax man. but yes, I would definitely say so. I prefer a lower center of gravity and well honed specialized mechanicals oppose to a generic hatchback with compromised parts-bin engineering.

I’ve been refreshing this page like crazy and scoping various auto enthusiast sites for a leak. I’m itching like mad to see this thing.

Chris, my bad. Clearly, you are very well-informed on the topic of automotive engineering and your stated opinion is based on an accurate and detailed understanding of these two cars. I was wrong to challenge you. Please accept my sincerest apologies…

Really looking forward to this. For once though hoping the embargo holds out.

come on other site! time to pull through!!!

Will the skinny twin tarts spit on the crowd?

/hoping the speedster looks better than the coopster.

@brad.: It does :)

@ thatguy – ooooooooooooook. a hopped up vee-dub? no good.

And a “hopped up” Mini is better?

It has been leaked and it looks great!

autoexpress.co.uk are the guilty party – with a little help from a google search

It looks great so far but cant wait for the actual MotoringFile report

http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/carreviews/grouptests/241747/mini_roadster_out_in_open.html

Looks sick. Top down only though. Top up it looks really rushed, but it is what it is. Still would take the coupe.
