Yes the as is a bit painful to watch. What does MotoringFile think of this coverage? Any word on pricing for these packages? One thing that was on my mind with my R53 was the, “What if,” factor. I did not want to be stuck with MAJOR repair costs on a car I love. I could see when I get my R57 seriously thinking about one of these packages.

With a $50 deductable, the XL plan for whatever length of time you want really is a no brainer…. IF… the price is reasonable. The tire plan might also be worth it too, especially with the replace instead of repair policy on the run flats. We’ve already had to replace 2 of them and it wasn’t cheap.

Hopefully this is something you can also add on for an existing vehicle still under warranty and not just a “at time of purchase” choice.

ODD comments? I thought it was rather funny not painful at all when I 1st viewed it over at GBMINI.NET.

I bought my extended through my credit union for my 2004 MCS now with 65,000 miles on it. In the last few months I would have had to pay out of pocket some $3000+, exhaust manifold, catalytic converter, new drivers seat cover, full drivers side window mechanism, I paid $200, my deductable. I paid $1800 for my extended, well worth every cent but I have only 10,000 miles or 1 year left on the coverage.

After 5 years of enjoyable and maintenance free, well minus the 4 windscreens, motoring things seem to falling off the car at an alarming rate.

Just last weekend I replaced the original battery. MINI wanted $300+ for battery and installation. I used my CA resale number, installed it myself… $177. No one out here in the Pasadena area even Sears or Interstate had one in stock and would have taken 1 week to get…:-(

PepBoys suggested “We can fit something in there.” Funny.

Really funny way to present the product-which I’ve come to expect from MINI.

Anyone know how this differs from the dealer offered “Service Contract” I didn’t buy when I picked up my 2010 Clubman yesterday? Looking at the pdf of this program, the range of what it covers is pretty thorough, assuming they don’t get hinky about what caused a given part to fail.

any word on it covering CVT issues on a 2004 R50 with 100,000 miles on it? i’m too in a rush this morning to look for the pdf, but if this protects my transmission, i might just be bringing my car to school with me next semester.

I’m groaning and laughing at the same time!

Just added that we’ll have an asessment of the program soon.

It would be nice if the dealers actually knew about this and could provide pricing.
