Well its here, and all the fear and angst is finally out of the closet. Funny how it brings out a raft of stale crits of the R56 along with the die-hard haters of this model!
I think the design is well done. The shape is right, the size smaller than I expected, the interior moves reinforce the “family” begun with the R56, and like it or not the center stack affirms the R56 more than revolutionizes it. Sorry stack haters – you loose that one. My only complaint is the road-going wheel/tire combination looks too small in diameter for the size of the car. The larger diameter on the Beachcomber looked so much more right, and the road wheels with low profile tires need that same overall diameter.
