Anyone know the curb weight... has to be 300-400 lbs more. Apparently MINI is using the 1.6L variants so it will be an exciting yawn 0-60. Will MINI offer the diesel variants in the US?

Look wise... I'd describe it as fugly cute.

I am not going to take your bait, Lav. You are too much of a R56 apologist to even bother...

Sorry Lavardera, but pretty much like in the last 3 years, we will continue to agree to disagree on this one as well.

I agree. I like it alot. It may be my next car.

I think aside from the usual 'haters' the comments have been overall positive, more so than I anticipated particularly with the comments when the 'test mule' was exposed and the concept proposed.

Well its here, and all the fear and angst is finally out of the closet. Funny how it brings out a raft of stale crits of the R56 along with the die-hard haters of this model!

I think the design is well done. The shape is right, the size smaller than I expected, the interior moves reinforce the "family" begun with the R56, and like it or not the center stack affirms the R56 more than revolutionizes it. Sorry stack haters - you loose that one. My only complaint is the road-going wheel/tire combination looks too small in diameter for the size of the car. The larger diameter on the Beachcomber looked so much more right, and the road wheels with low profile tires need that same overall diameter.
