Do have to say this is the first time I have really seen the Pacman head on and it looks very tall and narrow to me (proportionally speaking).

It is proportionally wrong in this video. Most of the video got squeezed from 16:9 aspect ratio into 4:3. You guys need to encode and upload it again.

Yes I know rkw, actually though the first shots I saw were stills and it still proportionally looks still a bit high and narrow to my eye. Either way I am indifferent to the design, I am sure it will pop for some people out there but is pretty much the last thing I would drive. All the size and weight of the R60 minus the utility.

@JonPD: actually, after the Herr26 revelation of backward-opening rear doors a few days ago, you’ll lose none of the utility. I don’t like it, just sayin’.

you’ll lose none of the utility

The wheelbase on the Paceman is the same, but the overall car is a bit shorter, so you’ll likely lose a touch of boot space. It’ll still be four bucket seats though, which I think is pretty rad. If this does become the Clubman, I really hope they convert to the barn doors in the rear over the hatch. I’ve had a Clubman loaner for the past week and those rear barn doors are my favorite part. Pop the door, toss my bag in, off I go.

I love how we’re sworn to secrecy by people and the someone at BMW just openly talks about it :)

That’s what came from BMW. If you want to suck it down from Youtube and re-encode be our guest.

According to the designers it’s the same size internally. It’s the rear bumper that makes it shorter.

Okay, I didn’t know that. The article said “a highlights video from Gabe’s tripâ€, which made me think you had created the video yourself.

That would be my fault. It was in the MF YouTube channel, so I assumed it was something Gabe had pulled together on his iPhone.

These aren’t the droids you’re looking for. Move along.

good lord, I think I just got corn poisoning from that reveal

Holy crap! I had no idea that the movie Zoolander was so true to life.

That is just embarrassing!

Its funny my pic shows no 4 wheel drive on the Paceman.

But i guess the concept Paceman was not fully finished hence the non complete inside.

Not sure I would label this as a highlight heh. The speech was ok but the reveal was a tad underwhelming.
