MINI of Charleston has announced official pricing for the B-spec parts package for the R56 MINI Cooper. If you want to go SCCA racing in your MINI, the kit will cost you around $6,000, plus tires and a roll cage. Not a bad deal! This means that even starting with a brand new car, you’re racing for right around $30k.
The total kit price will be in the $6k range, plus tires and cage… which MINI of Charleston can also provide, but pricing has yet to be set. Some of what the kit includes is custom KW V1 suspension, Vorshlag Camber plates, Way Motor Works stainless brake lines, safety window nets, wheels, ECU reflash, air filter, etc.

Car Magazine is reporting that the MINI City car project (aka the production Rocketman) will not be moving forward to production in the foreseeable future. MINI recently did its usual model pitch to the board of parent company BMW and the diminutive 3m MINI didn’t make the cut. continued →

a MINI, there are many markets that prize space and utility above almost all else. And MINI intends to respond. But instead of making the 3rd generation MINI hatch (aka the F56) bigger, they intend to give it more utility and more access to the space it already has. continued →

Recently, Rauno sat down with Sympatico’s Matt Bubbers and recounted one hell of a story about a snowy race course, an accidental shortcut and winning the stage by only five seconds. Love it or hate it, MINI’s advertising is usually memorable. Open up an Advertising Annual from Communication Arts from the past ten years and chances are you’ll find something from MINI featured. Many of the enthusiast old guard probably remember the USA brand launch from Crispin Porter & Bogusky. Since 2005, MINI’s advertising has been handled by Butler Shine Stern & Partners have lead the cheerleading efforts. Now Advertising Age is reporting that MINI USA has put out a Request-for-Information to a number of national agencies, including BSSP. continued →
