The MINI Superleggera Detailed in Official Videos

P90151085-MINI Superleggera Vision Roadster Concept

The Superleggera has taken the world by storm as much as a MINI concept could. It’s been widely praised by critics and enthusiasts alike for its beauty and interpretation of MINI’s classic design principles and dose of British style. As as much as our recent hands-on photos illustrated the details of the concept, seeing it in motion really brings it to life in a way still photography cannot.

Check out the videos below and let us know what you think. Should MINI build the next Roadster and Coupe in the spirit of the Superleggera or has MINI strayed too far?

Build it and they will come

Is it a complete, working car, or a mockup? Is it too fragile to go fast? Or too valuable, as a one-off?

    • blitzcat

Its electric, and thats as fast as it goes!

Would the coupe version of this car look like this?

This is also a British / Italian concept car from 1963 by MG and Jacques Coune. The MGB Berlinette – a one off hand made concept in a very similar form and colour to todays concept.

Beautiful car, this MG; I don’t recall ever hearing about it. Thanks for sharing the link and the story…

I love this car. I want this car. It doesn’t really look like a MINI to me, but I don’t care. If it were available today at a price of around $32-38k new, I would buy this car in a heartbeat.

I don’t know how much of this design could carry over into to a “real world” production model, but as it is, I really like everything about this car.

The MINI Roadster is quietly snickering…or wondering what it would look like with that windshield treatment, stabilizer and Union Jack detail.

  • Ken Valley

It’s smaller then i thought. I now was it MOAR.

  • Bob Hayhurst

Nice videos; they tend to give a better sense of scale to the Superleggera then the still pictures. Is it’s overall size is comparable to Audi TT roadster or smaller? I would hope a bit smaller and lower…

“Check out the videos below and let us know what you think. Should MINI build the next Roadster and Coupe in the spirit of the Superleggera or has MINI strayed too far?” No, they should build exactly this, slap a Triumph badge on it and count the money rolling in.
