This weekend marks the official debut of the Paceman several larger dealers across the nation hosting events around the car. Because of this longtime MF partner MINI of Chicago is having one of the larger events with food, drinks and plenty of MINI related prizes being given away this Saturday from 4-6 pm. Live outside of Chicago? No worries as MF sponsors Orlando MINI, Portland MINI and MINI of Manhattan are all stocked with the new Paceman.

As a name, MINI Inspired by Goodwood is a mouthful. MINI couldn’t use the term Rolls Royce or even reference the storied brand. So instead they simply referenced the place all Rolls are made – Goodwood England. And it’s a shame because the Goodwood is nothing less than jaw-dropping once you open the door and your senses fully experience the car. The only problem? They’re relatively rare with many dealers not even getting more than one (if any). However MotoringFile sponsors MINI of Chicago not only has one or two but eight of the ultimate MINIs. Currently the dealer has delivered four and have another four in the showroom (all priced only $1,000 over invoice to celebrate the store’s one year anniversary). So with all the opulence just a few miles away from MF HQ, we thought it was worth a trip down the street to go check them out.

Being primarily based in Chicago, MotoringFile has long waited for the day when a MINI dealer would actually be located within city limits. The wait is over. a few weeks MINI of Chicago opened its doors to one of the largest MINI markets in the US. And perhaps fittingly MINI of Chicago is also the largest MINI dealer in the Midwest. So to mark this occasion we at MF wanted to give them a hearty welcome to the only MINI dealer in our own backyard.

This comes to us from White Roof Radio co-host and MotoringFile contributor, Todd Pearson.
In 2006, MINI announced they would be producing a performance-oriented special edition model that would be lighter weight and limited in quantity worldwide. As we all know, that edition was dubbed the MINI Cooper S John Cooper Works GP edition. Two thousand individually numbered GPs were produced with 415 sold in the US. I wasn’t immediately smitten when the GP was announced but the car grew on me so much that I put a deposit down and paid extra to take part in a special delivery of the very first GPs delivered during the first MINI Takes The States. The special delivery took place at Laguna Seca during the kick-off to the Monterey Historics in 2006. Needless to say, as soon as I laid eyes on the Thunder Blue Metallic paint, carbon fiber wing and unique aero kit on the GP, I was in love with this car. continued →

Like most out there MotoringFile has made a couple New Years Resolutions this year. One of them is to get back to posting about great exclusive deals from out sponsors. So to make up for the fact that we haven’t had a MF Deal post in awhile and to start the new year off right, we’re letting you in on one of the biggest deals we’ve ever seen.
Patrick MINI is currently running the un-heard of special of $1000 off all on new MINIs currently in stock. Yeah, that’s new MINIs at a $1000 discount – pretty much un heard of outside of special one-time deals. Perfect for someone wanting to get one of the last classic R50 or R53 MINI coupes! However you’ll want to act fast as the special ends on January 31st.
