[Official Release] The MINI Challenge series in Argentina and Brazil have thrilled their fans this season with exciting races and new champions.
Race weekends brimming with tension on renowned South-American circuits, combined with the lifestyle and parties so typical of MINI, and about which drivers, teams and fans are still talking weeks later: the MINI Challenge series in Argentina and Brazil offer more than just high-class motorsport. They are an attitude to life.
[Official Release] In a sense, the big rear hatch is symbolic – because the MINI Coupé is big in so many other ways as well. With its flamboyant styling and ultra-sporty driving qualities, the MINI Coupé has set new standards for driving enjoyment in the premium small-car segment. It’s now over a year since the two-seater made its first public appearance in the 24-hour endurance race on the Nürburgring North Loop, and since then the MINI Coupé has gone on to shine in normal road driving, too, with unbeatable agility and thrilling cornering performance.
Official News: MINI fans who live for circuit racing are in for a real treat this weekend. Events will be held in five series, in which many private MINI teams will line up on the grid.
The jostling for positions, attractive races that allow the crowds to follow the action on challenging yet easily visible tracks, and – last but not least – the MINI racing cars themselves: circuit races are without a doubt among the finest events that motorsport has to offer. On the weekend of 8th to 10th June, fans can look forward to an extra-large portion of pure racing action. Many MINI teams will be battling for points in no fewer than five series in Europe and North America.
Look for much more on this team and the car next week.

Our new friend Dirk Lauth, #44, sent us these two great in-car videos from his car during MINI Challenge Germany. For this race, MINI Challenge was hosted by the GT 1
World Championship at Sachsenring in Germany. Some great racing action that’s definitely worth a few minutes of your day. A huge thank you to Dirk for sending this our way. Second video after the break. continued →
In sad news it would appear that MINI is pulling all corporate support on Australia’s MINI Challenge series. The lack of official support likely means the series will race for the last time next weekend in Sydney. It’s unclear what (if anything) this means for the European series.(Courtesy of Ausmotive)
Official Release: BMW Group Australia today announced that after three highly successful years, the MINI Challenge race series would not be continued in 2011.
