Roberto Cavalli adds his artistic signature to the MINI Paceman. MINI has been a partner of the AIDS charity event since 2001.
For the 13th time in succession, MINI is donating one of its models to the Vienna Life Ball for a good cause. Once again the MINI will be given a makeover by an internationally renowned designer before being auctioned at the ball, with proceeds going to projects dedicated to the battle against and prevention of HIV and AIDS. This year it is the MINI Paceman, the youngest and seventh model in the MINI family, that will bear the creative stamp of fashion designer Roberto Cavalli. It sees him joining the ranks of world-famous fashion labels such as DSQUARED², Diesel and Missoni, who have in the past transformed a range of MINI models into sensational one-offs. So far the Life Ball MINI auctions have raised total proceeds in excess of half a million Euros.

As soon as the second half of 2014 MINIs will once again be made in the Netherlands. To mark the occasion BMW is sponsoring the restoration of a 1959 Mini originally assembled at Molenaar’s Car Factory in Amersfoort, Holland. We’ll be talking more about MINI’s production plans and how they will be tweaked for the introduction of the 3rd generation later this year.
Official Release: Today VDL Nedcar employees started the restoration of one of the first Dutch Minis. This classic Mini – one of the oldest Minis in the world – was assembled in 1959 at Molenaar’s Car Factory in Amersfoort, Holland and is now being completely rebuilt by a team of five VDL Nedcar employees. continued →

Official news from MINI Motorsport: After back-to-back victories at the Dakar Rally, the Monster Energy X-raid Team started the new season as it ended the last – successfully. Despite the triumphs at the toughest endurance rally in the world, Team Principal Sven Quandt’s outfit is still hungry for success. This bodes well for fans of the X-raid Team, which has put its faith in the reliable performance of the MINI ALL4 Racing for years now. The team, which once again lined up with one of the most cosmopolitan crews at the latest Dakar, once again has an excellent record already this season.

Official Release: The BMW Group continued to perform well in the first quarter of 2013. Group revenues totalled € 17,546 million (2012: € 18,293 million; -4.1%). Despite higher expenditure on new technologies, increased personnel expenses and challenging market conditions worldwide, the profit before financial result (EBIT) for the three-month period totalled € 2,039 million (2012: € 2,134 million; -4.5%), the second highest result ever achieved by the Group in a first quarter. MINI USA reported small sales growth for April, with sales only rising 1% over April of 2012. Year-to-date sales are also flat, actually down slightly at -0.4%. MINI’s official statement and sales chart follow after the jump, but one word of clarification: BMW has transposed the Hardtop and Clubman numbers.
