During the recent LA Autshow MotoringFile had a chance to sit down with head of MINI Design Anders Warming to discuss the F56. Hearing the man who led the design of the car inside and out go into detail about the design is with such articulation personally helped unlock some of the F56 for me. It also serves as a reminder that there are real people behind the cars that we love or don’t love. And whatever you think of the design, the ingenuity that is present throughout the design is something to behold – especially in person.
Finally! After months of speculation, spy shots, really bad renders and more press releases than we could shake a stick at, we get to see and talk about the F56! Full coverage of the F56 can of course be found throughout MF this week with videos and more hands-on time to come in the days ahead. But this show is all about our initial assessment and opinions on the most anticipated MINI yet.
This episode of White Roof Radio is pretty much “all F56 all the time.” Todd, Chad and DB are up first with their take, followed by Gabe and Nathaniel, who recorded separately due to fancy schedules. No matter who’s in front of the mic, you can definitely say we are all excited for this new MINI. Give it a listen.
Big show for you guys this week! Gabe joins us to catch us up with a whole bunch of stuff before he headed out for more BMW adventures. We also talked, briefly, about the Tesla Model S (read the BF Model S Quick Drive), the Craven Speed Flex Mounts, that crazy pink Challenger you see above plus a ton of other things. Did I mention it’s a big show this week?
Want bigger? Join us Thursday, shortly after 9:00 PM CST for another episode of White Roof Radio Live! It’s going to be a good time, just like it always is. I’ll even try to warm up the chat room again. Join us!
Nathaniel does a pretty good Carson. Who knew? Also, a few words about my new clutch vs. my old clutch, plus my “still needs to get done” list. Chad lays down with a very interesting therory about power steering hoses too. I mean, it’s like a show within a show for you guys!
Now how much would you pay?
Before you say anything, what if we toss in some news from MotoringFile? And some Ask Chad? I’m tellin’ ya, it’s a ton of show for you guys today.
Don’t forget to keep an eye out for Chad at MINIs on the Mac in August. Who’s going?
Joined by our pal Axel from Germany (and bigblogg.com) for a ton of news from MotoringFile including some talk about the Cooper R60 with All4. Plus, as you would expect, Todd snuck in a reference to his GP for those of you playing the drinking game! Oddly enough, we also spent some time talking about the Countryman rip-off Fiat 500l. Click through at your own risk, it’s not even the least bit attractive IMO.
And, who’s up for breaking a world record? If that’s you and your are in the US, might I suggest MINIs on the Mack?
Join MINI of Grand Rapids and MINI motorists from all over the country as we attempt to break the Guinness Book World Record for the Largest Parade of MINIs at MINIs on the Mack.
More details at Facebook and we hope to be talking to the organizers very soon!
