According to ASK MINI the rear foglight retrofit kits for the US market will be delayed until the end of the year. This makes sense considering the option to have them installed at the factory will also be rolling out at the end of the year.
You can read more about the rear foglight retrofit kit here: MINI Announces Dealer-Installed Rear Foglights.

A little bit of a bummer as I was looking forward getting them installed in my '04 MCS. However, the main issue I saw with the dealer installed rear fogs kit was going to be the cost of labor. The parts were goping to be $75-$100 and the labor was north of $200-$250 for installation…get my drift?

From a money perspective, it is cheaper to have them installed as OEM factory equipment and only pay $100 one time. However, I was not willing to wait all the way til' December just to be able to get this option.

Screw that, for that price Ill leave em how they are…wired up to the brake lights. I am not paying $350 for an extra toggle switch and another thing BMW botched that shouldve come standard in the first place.

I agree ANTS. My next MINI will have it but for now Brake light MOD is better.

Well, fog lights are rarely included as standard equipment in sub $20K cars and much less rear fog lights which are mostly offered in high end European cars such as Audi.

My problem was paying $100 plus another $200-$300 in labor charges to get them installed. At only $100 as a factory installed option they otherwise very reasonably priced. remember that if you want front fog lights in the Cooper and MCS you have to pay $140 right off the bat.

I'm going to see what it takes to install it myself. It couldn't be that hard to put the new swtich module in and hook everything up. I just won't worry about getting the rear fogs working. I like my brake mod better :)

I think you still need to get the body control module reprogrammed to activate the rear fog light toggle switch. The hardware installation should be pretty straight forward and should only be made easier if the required pre-wiring already exists back there.

Another vote for the brake lights mod! I went the extra mile and installed a “Automatic Brakes Initiated Annunciator” (love that descriptive title).

Here's yet another vote for the brakelight mod. It's so much more practical and safe to have bright brakes.

So a question would be: would it be possible for me to get only the switch panel? All I want is to get rid of that stupid hole in the bank of switches!!!
