The MINI Cooper Promini Intake
**** (out of 5)
After intalling a Remus exhaust on my Cooper I was sure that I had come to the end of my performance modifications in search for more horsepower. I figured long ago that I had decided horsepower wasn't overly important when I decided on a 03/02 build Cooper after several back to back MC/MCS test drives. Sure I still planned to add something little things here and there but I thought what was the point of trying to get 125HP out of my car when for an extra $3000 I could have 163HP. Then I was introduced to cold air induction and a new middle ground of performance between the MC and the MCS as well.

Gabe – nice review and video! Intake sounds pretty impressive coupled with the exhaust. And you are correct about the sound being addictive – I find far too many reasons to floor my Cooper to hear it sound like that. While I don't have the same set-up parts wise, I would definitely say to Cooper owners that the intake and exhaust combo can certainly transform our Coopers…

Wow, I love that growl when you are on the gas. Had to play that video a few times to get my morning fix.

So, Gabe…where's your lucky testing wall? Looks like Evanston by some Metra tracks somewhere?

Close – it's in Winnetka next to the Metra and old abandon Northern Train line near New Trier HS. There's about a mile stretch of it.

Gabe, where is this stretch? i'd love to go find it.

Nice, but under the bonnet needs to be cleaned. 🙂 Take some pics of Steve's or My insides.

Anytime you want to come over and clean it let me know :)

Gabe,
Any warranty concerns with either of these modifications?
Ron.

According to both the service and parts manager at my local MINI dealer it does not affect the warranty in anyway other than for the intake/airfilter itself which of course MINI won't cover. But that doesn't really matter since I've always got the original should anything ever go wrong with it and Promini intake of course has a warranty through Promini.
