Again nothing here that MotoringFile readers haven't seen before but it's great to finally (yes finally) see all of this confirmed. As we posted a while back the Cooper Convertible will retail for $20,950 and the Cooper S Convertible will set you back $24,400. You can download the files below:

I've also learned that the “official” introduction date for the convertible in the US is September 1st. That being said dealers should be getting their first batch of customer cars by mid August (including demos).

wow, convertibles get the HK upgrade in the premium package for the same price?!

That takes the place of the sunroof – which is shall we say, standard :)

PDC is standard now?

On the Cabrio yes. It's standard due to the poor rear visability with the top up.

Am I the only one disappointed that we can't get the red/black leather/cloth combo on the Cabrio in the U.S.? I was almost sold on the silver w/ red/black convertible s. Hmm…guess I'll have to go back to the drawing board.

Does the Sport package on the Cooper convertible not include the Xenon headlights or was that just an oversight?

It never has in previous years.

What kind of pricing is normal at the dealerships? Are they charging a premium?

The pricing is all over the board. I checked with 9 dealers in western states and got quotes of $2500, $750, $500, and $175 over MSRP. One dealer is selling at MSRP. Good hunting.

I ordered at MSRP at Tom Bush Mini in Jacksonville, Florida.

It looks like I can't get Bonnet Stripes on a Cooper Convertible. Is that correct or a misprint in the pricing pdf?

The Cooper doesn't get bonnet stripes at the factory. They have always been dealer aftermarket. Only the 'S' gets them there.

I'm currently on a “waiting list” at my dealer. Anyone know when dealers can actually start inputting orders?

Just faxed my deposit/credit card to MINI dealership in OK City that is selling the MINI S convertible at MSRP.

Local dealer in Kansas City, BARON, is selling the S at $3000 over sticker – that is not a misprint – $3000 over!

I checked with dealerships in Indy, Memphis, Nashville – all are selling at MSRP.

Mine is scheduled to arrive 10/04.
