In an effort to settle bets between friends and increase everyone's automotive knowledge just a bit, here's the latest technical data on the entire range of 2005 MINIs. From the gear ratios to drag coefficient to the first official mention of a 0-60 time for the MCS automatic, it's all here in this official MINI PDF:

No official mention of the Auto mileage though.

Is the AISIN tranny for the MCS the same auto tranny used in the BMW line-up? I think I remember the rumors of the MCS tranny being the same as the 3 series – is this true?

No it's not. Do a search for Aisin in the search bar above for more info on the transmission.

… and I recently put up all the 2005 pricing (for USA market)

I always wonder…..who gives a flying f…..about any of that stuff, but obviously some do…..Go Figure.

Anyone know the gas tank capacity? They left that out.

I know the gas tank capacity on my '05 MCS is a touch over 13 gallons. I can't remember the exact number but 13.1 and 13.3 are running through my tiny brain.

I can't imagine it is much different on more recent builds.

In the official specs, the 0- 60 time is 6.8 for the MCS. Why do most magazines I have read say it is 7.2 to as far up as 7.7??

Is the '05 MCS that much faster than the '04?

It's rather interesting that they list the F/R track of the MC as 2/10″ wider than the MCS. I would have expected just the opposite.

Is there any thing like this available for the earlier models?

Motor Trend just got 0-60/6.4, 1/4 mile/14.8 in their new February issue!
Time to trade up.

this might be off topic, but will the MINI cooper (not the S) be offered in hyper blue

i really don't like any of the cooper color choices except blue, and dark silver on available on the S

I'd be interested to see the new 2005 MCS w/ JCW 0-60 numbers. :-)

the mini cooper s rocks, it’ll be my first car!
