I wanted to take a quick minute and let everyone know my quest for gainful employment has come to an end. I accepted a creative director position a few weeks ago at a local company. Basically that means I'm responsible for a ton of design and design direction. It's an exciting place with a great location only a few minutes from home.
I cannot thank everyone enough for all the kind comments and emails since I was laid off in November. I have been totally overwhelmed and humbled by it all. There are specific people I'd really like to single out with thanks but I won't embarrass them here. Let's just say I have been totally blown away by all the support. Thanks again.

Congrats Gabe!
A great feeling it must be to be gainfully employed once again…

(i'm still on the path of the unemployed…) :)

motor on!

congrats gabe! no one deserves it more!

Yay! Was hoping you weren't sellin' pencils under the L! HeHe! Sorry your drive is so short – less motoring! 😉 I had faith some outfit would recognise your talent – we here at motoringfile's many fans know a good'un when we see one! Congrats, Gabe! (P.S. – bet the wife is relieved!)

Brad

We never expected anything less from you! Congrats!

Congrats, Gabe! Sounds like a position that you will actually enjoy, not something you just took because you needed something. And pretty quick too–I was out for an entire year, and after 8mo of finding nothing in Chicago I was forced to move east. Best of luck at the new job!

Hey, I'm glad for you! Now I can relax.

Bob

Wonderful, Gabe – congrats and here's to '05!

Congratulations Gabe,

It's a testament to your skills that you weren't out of work for very long.

Maybe it is all for the best and you will be happier in this job than you were in the last.

Congratulations Gabe! I hope that it stays a dream come true!

My last CD was a fine human that got me over a creative block. His good kharma paid off with a positon move to Pentagram.

Good Kharma follows good people.

Finally…. good luck with the new job… you and your family deserve it!!

Congratulations Gabe! What a great way to start the new year!

Congrats! “Creative director” – sounds like a job that would be hard to dislike. :)

What an excellent way to start your new year. Congratulations!

Thanks all!!!

To answer a few questions…

Yes I featured MotoringFile on my resume.

Yes it didn't take too long to find a job. I attribute much of that to being in the right place at the right time. I'd like to think talent was a part of it but I've known some very talented folks that have been unemployed for much longer. However, I am proud to say that I got this job without the aid of knowing anyone currently with the company.

Oh and Creative Director is just a fancy way of saying I do a little bit of everything on the design side of things :)

Never thought you would be idle for long…. With motoringfile etc, how could anyone pass you up.
Ron

Congratulations, Gabe!

I hope it's going to be a great year for you.

Congratulations. I knew it was only a matter of time – and thankfully, a very short time.

Great news Gabe!!

Your design skills are very good! I can tell by just looking at MotoringFile web page!

Have fun with your new challenge and keep us updated about it! ;-)

Congrats again… glad to hear you'll be in the green again! Pending a security clearance, I'll be joining you in the land of the employed again soon too!

Bingo! Congratulations!
