White Roof Radio Podcast #9 is a wrap and it looks like we’ve got the best one to date. We were lucky enough to have the famous Randy Webb from Webb Motorsports on to answer questions and to give his thoughts on all things MINI. The only problem is that I just can’t wait for it to be released later in the week. So as a special mid-week surprise for MotoringFile readers I’m happy to present a bit of a bootlegged version for early release.
For those that don’t know, Randy Webb is one of the absolute authorities on MINI tuning and has been a regular in the field since the car’s US release. In fact, I’d venture to say that there are very few people more interesting to chat with (and supremely knowledgeable) about MINI tuning than Randy.
Among a few points discussed during the show were pulleys, brakes, exhausts, and even what’s coming up for next generation of MINI tuning. Long time enthusiasts as well as interested newbies will probably find the podcast both educational and entertaining as Randy isn’t afraid to get down and dirty with technical details that are rarely discussed.
As mentioned above, White Roof Radio Podcast #9 was recorded last-night and is scheduled for release later this week. So consider this the pirated version released a few days early! Just don’t tell DB or Todd 😉

what happenned to #8??

Well I believe the plan was to release #8 this week and this one (#9) later this weekend. However this maybe changing.

Very cool – thanks so much. I just got it to work for me at work, so now I can go play catch up. YAY!

Very Nice Podcast, Randy Webb is a Gem !!

Nice

It’s always great to hear Randy Webb talk MINIs!

Excellent work all ’round on the WRR! Randy Webb is such a great guy, and so down-to-earth. He’s been like the John Cooper of the USA MINI scene. Helluva wheel man, too.

Thanks!

what a great technical conversation from one of the leaders in the MINI aftermarket world. Great to get his specific thoughts and the process that he went through to get to the 15% pulley.

Thank you WWR and Gabe for putting this together.

Gabe, I’m curious if this podcast has you wanting to RSVP a pulley party. Randy’s description of the effeciency curves and how all of that related to the 15% pulley swap was super interesting. And his commentary on pulley + sway bar = “the way the car should have come from the factory” was also very enlightening. Just the very fact that Webb Motorsports is doing extensive testing on all of their mod components should be very reassuring to those wanting to spice up their MINI under the bonnet and in the springs. I hope the ’07 changes won’t throw too big a monkey wrench in what he’s trying to do there in Denver.

A note to other iPod users out there….I have the “older” version” of iTunes and was unable to successfully run the newer version of iTunes due to an error message I kept getting, so feared that I woul be unable to hear the podcasts.

Then I found a free program called “iPodder” which works great. I have already downloaded almost all of the programs, and have enjoyed listening to two of them.
Anyone interested, you can go to
http://ipodder.sourceforge.net/

It is a cross-platform receiver of RSS feed, so it works with both Windows and MAC.

iPodder works great with the site Podnova. I’m going to be doing a write up about the combo this weekend over at WRR.

Thanks all for listening!

Oh yea, Woofcast #9 is now officially up! ;)
