August was also the best month ever in the US for MINI’s parent company.
The BMW Group in the U.S. (BMW and MINI brands combined) reported impressive August sales of 28,879, an increase of 18 percent over the 24,501 vehicles sold the same month last year, for its second best month ever. The BMW Group also reported year-to-date sales of 200,562 vehicles, up 4 percent over the 192,233 vehicles sold in the first eight months of 2004.

Nothing like a little gas-crunch to bump up sales on small cars. Glad I got in early!

I’m motoring in my JCW S at 2,000 rpm to experience anything close to that boasted mpg… ;)

Way to go MINI!

oh good grief. this again?

you mean gas mileage discussion or MINIUSA’s acclaims? I’m guessing the former.

What is interesting is the MC/MCS split for 2005; 54% are MCS this year. The ratio of MCS is on the rise (see here for individual figures)

Ian rocks for the figures, baby!

I was waiting for those Ian 😉 If my memory serves me, back in 2001 MINIUSA was projecting a 70/30 MC/MCS split. These numbers are interesting indeed.

I could care less about the gas crunch. I didn’t invest all this money in my JCW everything to crawl around on the freeway at 2K arppies because it costs a few more bucks at the pump. It’s a cost of doing business, and my business is tearing up and down the ancillary byways of the Pacific Coast in a workmanlike manner and letting it all hang out on trackday. Call me irresponsible, I just can’t forego the adrenaline rush or the smiles. 🙂 Yippee!! MINIs for everyone!

I just finished my summer trip to WA and back, and I’d do the same again in a heartbeat – I love drivin’ this car! It would be a bit of a bigger dent in the wallet, but it feels so good. HeHe!
I agree, MINIs for everyone!

I’ll admit to taking my motorcycle to work today; 50mpg beats 23 by about 2:1. ;-)

I did play with maximum mileage yesterday while running errands. I was able to raise my average by a noticeable margin by only using gears 1, 3 and 6! That got boring fast, tho.

Wait a minute; I thought this bozo got banned!

We try to be lenient here… but let’s just say I have an itchy trigger finger.

If MINI didn’t have the rest of BMW dragging it down it’s numbers would look allot better. lol

Welcome back crazy Jim. You were missed.

Waah Waah! I want to be the only MINI in my city! Waah Waah! People don’t look at me anymore at cruse night! Waah Waah!

Bring on the MINI D to the U.S.!
