As reported a few months back we expect to sell less in 2006 than it did in 2005 or even 2004. The reason? The Oxford Plant will offline for parts of 2006 as construction is underway to increase capacity. Now it would seem that the mainstream press has picked up on it and is predicting 10% fewer sales for 2006 putting the total number around 180,000 for the year.
Of course this is basically the same figure we mentioned back in November, but who’s keeping score? You can read more below:

Good writeup
I picked up my 06 on Friday (whooo!).
The dealer said they didn’t get any build slots in January, and only 10 in December.

Enjoy! 🙂
This should help maintain those high prices on the used car market.
2006 Checkmate edition should be a good buy.
My ’06 came home last weekend.
The few. The proud. . .
I didn’t just pick up a new MINI at the dealer, but if I had I would be really happy with my ’06.
I got my ’06 right after ThanksGiving. I wasn’t going to, but all the talk about plant closings in 2006 and model changes in ’07 scared me into an early decision. I really love everything about this car, the ’07 MINI just wouldn’t be the same car for me.
seems i should be happy i only have to wait 3 months for my mini, it is due to arrive 15th of feb woohooo
