Todd did some man-in-the-street interviews before the kick-off party on Monday and spoke with a bunch of people including Rob Vanwall (frequent WRR voicemailer), a couple honeymooning (with a GP!), Graham Pike (GP) who won the GP at The Historics and some MINIUSA folks and a guy that is taking the entire run in a classic!
Check back Tuesday for even more updates, plus Todd and db will be at the SCMM Barstow Pit-stop. Be sure to come out and meet us!

WHERE CAN I GET ONE OF THESE BADGES!!!
Of course it isn’t as cool as my magnetic badges, but wow!!!
I went up to Santa Barbara from L.A. yesterday evening, met up with Todd, then headed down to State St., and got together with quite a few MINI owners in town for MTTS.
On the drive up, there were a lot of MINIs heading South on the 101 between Santa Barbara and L.A. Between that and the unusually high number of exotics on the road it was pretty clear a lot of people that had been in Monterey will be at a desk this morning, and not out Motoring.
Even though quite a few MINIs had pealed off of MTTS to head back to L.A., Santa Barbara was crawling with MINIs. We managed to wrangle as many owners as we could into a local bar, including some that were just driving by and responded to the cheers of “MINI”.
One often repeated sentiment by those in attendance was that it seemed like an opportunity was missed by BSSP/MINIUSA to have a designated place for MINI owners to congregate for the evening. As it was, Santa Barbara was basically every MINI owner for themselves.
My best wishes to all of those on the road this morning and for the rest of MTTS for a safe and fun drive.
“Graham Pike (GP) who won the GP at The Historics” They raffled off a GP at the historics??
