It’s DIY Friday here at MotoringFile and we’re going to continue on with the R56 theme. Today it’s the new Rear Carrier. The MINI Rear Carrier system allows owners to carry up to two bikes and can be folded down for easy access in the boot. It’s compatible with both the 2007 Cooper and Cooper S.

Will this attachment allow use of a utility trailer?
Not sure I like where the bumper needs to be cut for installation of this rack. The sport link was a bit better in terms of mounting because it just required holes to be cut in the black plastic part of the bumper.
Any sportlink users have comments about this?
Kind of bulky looking compared to the Sportslink.
Interesting. Requires permanent modification like the current roof rack which makes me think…will MINI not be offering a roof rack for the 07s?
