Besides calling it by the wrong name in the title, this is another great review of the Cooper D.
>Thought you were looking a bit stunned. While ‘Cooper Diesel’ does sound like a contradiction, we should point out this is an entirely new derv-burning engine. It’s out with the old Toyota-derived unit, in with a BMW-fettled PSA/Ford 1.6.
>This features clever stuff like variable turbine geometry on the turbocharger, second generation high-pressure common-rail diesel technology, and an overboost function. As the Cooper badging suggests, this should in theory serve up a livelier driving experience. The added bonus is seriously impressive fuel economy and very respectable emissions: 64.2mpg combined, and only 118g/km of CO2.

I kinda like the matte black mirror covers and grille slats on that silver number.
is the 64.2 mpg US gallons or imperial? maybe mr math ,Todd could tell us how many mpg the copper D would get in the US
Is this retrofittable?
yes, i will take the grii, the caps, thre diesel engine, and the turbo.
How can we encourage BMW to bring it across the pond? Maybe if enough interest is shown they will rethink the idea. I would buy one in a heartbeat.
1 us gallon to .83 imperial gallons.
64.2 mpg X .83 = 53.286 mpg
Sounds reasonable considering VW Diesels are in that range.
For the type of driving I do, this would be excellent. Any long highway trips involve loading luggage in kids into an SUV, but for scooting around town to work or shop, a small diesel would fit me perfectly.
