Another view of the Dragon, this time at night. It’s accompanied by the song that many around the MF Cabin last week came to know as my anthem, North American Scum by LCD Soundsystem. Enjoy.
I’m assuming that’s your GPS unit above the speedo – how well did it do with representing the curving roadway in real-time? Its hard to tell in the compressed time frame of the video if it was giving you good feedback. Funny – it almost looked like you had a night-vision set up when the display seemed to correspond with the view of the road.
Nice job Gabe. One of my favorite things about Minis has always been driving them at night. The R56s instrumentation looks nice but I’ll miss the look of the R53 speedo.
Next year we’d like to see a THREE camera set-up for triple split screen playback please. Camera One: view forward of the road. Camera Two: GPS unit screen. Camera Three: Gabe doing commentary. 😉
lcd is kind of a mixed bag. Off of both the albums there are maybe 4 songs I truly like enough to listen to in the car. “North American Scum” is one of em, but I actually kinda prefer “Daft Punk is playing at my house” to this one. That’s mostly cuz I’m a Daft Punk fan. 😛
Would very much like to see this video at its original framerate, tho.
This song really goes great with the video and how it’s sped up. This is classy stuff, some of the things i wish i could do with my R56 and post up on youtube.
P.S. I found german techno like Ascii Disko to be really complimentary, while driving my new R56.

Very well. I considered them rally pace-notes.

Now about that song……

Gabe..I had no idea you had good taste in music. However my R56 prefers Yeah (Crass Version)
🙂
Also right now the mini has been enjoying year zero.
Makes the chase scene in the “French Connection” seem tame. Looked like a lot of fun.

FYI – You probably can’t tell but I was wearing a DFA shirt during my three part Dragon/R56 review 🙂
LCD Soundsystem is a great band. But this is the first I’ve heard off Sound of Silver. Nice. Sweet video.
Awesome… If any of you LCD fans haven’t seen them live you are definitely missing out.
I like innocuous better. But this one grows on you. click the link for their website.
