This one in to the MF Mailbox and it sounds like it is going to be a great event! If you have never been to the bay area, this would be a perfect time to go! Might even coincide nicely with MTTS.
>Dates are set and plans are in the works for the Magical Mystery MINI Tour 2008 in San Francisco next summer (September 2008). This will include a Saturday night BBQ dinner and live concert on Treasure Island in the San Francisco bay. This will provide quite a photo opportunity with all the Minis and the San Francisco skyline in the background. A breakfast, bonfire on Ocean Beach followed by a sunrise MINI/Mini (aka The Steve McQueen Memorial Run) run through the streets of SF. Lombard Street (the crookedest street in the world), the Broadway Tunnel, The Presidio, Coit Tower, Twin Peaks, Golden Gate Bridge, and Fisherman’s Warf.
Dates are next September 5th – 7th 2008. Mark those calendars now!
How appropriate on Mini’s 50th birthday year.
The Beatles all owned Minis and George Harrisons car featured in the film ‘Magical Mystery Tour’. Check out the story of The Beatles Minis at;

How about Paul McCartney as a special guest?
So as Scott MacKenzie sang “If you’re goin to San Francisco, be sure to wear some flowers in your hair…”
Flower power, Peace, love etc.
Are the Fugs playin’ at the Filmore? We could have another Human Be-in at Golden Gate Park. Get out some psychedelic All-MINI Joy rock posters. Play “It’s A Beautiful Day” music and munch shrooms. Just a thought.
Groovy, man. We’ll be bringing the spirit of Ken Kesey from Oregon.

Having grown up in the Bay Area and currently residing there as well, I look forward to this. It’ll also be on my birthday, extra bonus.
Cindy and I will be there…
