Edmunds Inside Line had the Clubman S Auto to test and they did some very interesting things with it that we will be sharing later.
Of course they reviewed it. Glowing review as we have come to expect from this car. They even _almost_ liked the slushbox.
>Although the automatic Cooper S Clubman feels very good when you’re running hard, it doesn’t adapt well to a life of low-speed stop-and-go driving. Throttle response is sluggish in these situations, and while hitting the Sport button quickens it up, progress isn’t entirely smooth. What’s more, pressing this button locks the transmission into its Sport mode, resulting in shift points that are too aggressive in heavy traffic.
Yeah, very appropriate livery from the Californian home of the Woodie surf wagon of old.
Al Jardine has a PT Woodie, but I don’t think Mike Love would find the Clubman comfortable.
Good review, read this back in March. They also recently compared a Clubman S vs a 128i, good read also.
I like the “Woody” vinyl stickers on that Clubman S. Hmmm ideas, ideas…
