Apologies for the personal nature of this post but we’ve had a lot of inquires about my MCS that was for sale a few weeks ago and I wanted to update all those interested. The car was indeed sold a few days after going on the site and is currently in the hands of its new owner.
Thanks to all those who inquired about. I think I could have sold it 7-8 times over based on the interest. Look for an announcement soon on what I’ll be replacing it with.
Nice one Gabe. I hope its gone to a good home.
Knew it wouldn’t last long. Wonder if it’ll hit 200k as well.
No surprise there-it’s absolutely beautiful. Nice color combo!
Did you sell it with my personalised MF sticker? I hope you told the buyer about its Plant/Website connection!
Congratulations to the new owner.
I have a feeling this car will be worth about $100K on a Sotheby’s auction circa 2030…..
The MINI that was first diven by the great GABE (With Gabe music playing in the background ofcourse).
OK Gabe…what’s your next car going to be?
Thought it was sold a long time ago???
>Did you sell it with my personalised MF sticker? I hope you told the buyer about its Plant/Website connection!
Absolutely! There are a lot of little tidbits I shared with the new owners. The steering wheel that came from MINI United. The sticker from the plant. That car had a ton of interesting stories around it.
>OK Gabe…what’s your next car going to be?
Soon… very soon 🙂
135i 6-speed hardtop?
Great looking car! What brand wheels did you have on it?
Gabe, thanks for the update. When I first read the headline in RSS, I thought, No, they’ve sold the website to AOL or something…! Whew.
If you do get another vehicle soon, please let us know why you mysteriously decided to sell this hot car. Seems like just yesterday you were sharing your options sheet with us.
Anyhow, thanks for sharing this experience with us.
Thought this was gone months ago.
I’m betting on a JCW Clubman. Although to apease the Bimmerfile crowd a 135i is possible.
Give us a hint……
Sad to see it go. I’m sure the new owners will motor on without issue though!
I would say your next car will be a Cooper Clubman for the increased versatility, the lower price, and the awesome fuel mileage. You still have the 3 touring, right? A sixspeed 128i w/sport package is a great option, although the interior is no bigger than the R56’s.
I know you’ll keep us posted.
Hello to all; I am the new owner of the car. I want to send a big thanks to Gabe once again for the opportunity to take custody of such a great car.
I have and continue to get nothing but compliments and a series of questions where ever I go.
Rest assured the car is in good hands: I don’t plan on changing much of anything on it. You really can’t top perfection.
Lance
Gabe, did you autograph the dash? 😉
Great to hear from you Lance, one thing for sure. Sharp car you have there!
Good on you Lance. Hope the car gives you miles of smiles.
Excellent, Gabe! I know you will miss it despite the welcome addition of another ride
My 06 JCW is for sale (buying JCW Clubman) and it features a sticker I hand received from Mike Cooper while visiting JCG in 2004 😀
i bet he’ll get the 135 bmw….
Get the 135?
Maybe I’m not remembering straight but Gabe’s stated a few reasons for selling the Mini – could not afford it (while Mrs. on maternity leave – permanent?); and not big enough. If he replaces it so soon with a car that costs even more and has not much more room then I think Gabe will have been making a polite excuse to get into a 1 series. If you believe the past reasons then maybe more like something preowned, with more space.
Well, I’ll believe it when I see it..
Gabe also owns an E43 BMW 3 series wagon (I believe it is wifey’s ride?).
I think Gabe also gets to walk/use public transporation to and from work…. So he didn’t get to drive the car that much either during the week.
Nothing wrong with downsizing a bit and saving some coin in the process. kids do cost money and when one of the parents stops working, that’s 50% less income so you have to re-prioritize..
Here in Miami public transporation sucks, so a household has to have at least 2 cars. Without a car here, you die, literally.

Uh well it’s not a money thing but it does have something to do with needing something a little larger. But I’m not going to get into personal reasons here.

I’ve been ok without a car but will definitely need one soon.
So Gabe, have you checked out the VW Routan? 🙂
He is getting the new Chevy Suburban Hybrid 2500 😉
