When Hot Chocolate first debuted in the R55 Clubman there were scores of people asking about it’s availability on the coupe. It seem as if MINI may have heard the calls for more chocolate. We know for a fact that the new MINI Convertible will be getting the color starting this Spring. However we’ve also learned from a well placed source that the R56 coupe will also get the brown treatment sometime later in 2009.
Hot Chocolate + Brown Cloth Top + HC Lounge Leather + Aero Kit (with painted arches!!!) + Convertible = DROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
Build one on the UK MINI site to see what I’m talking about.
Just when I was really starting to dig the horizon blue… No two-tone option for 2009, right?
Great color, but does show up a lot of dust/dirt.
But when freshly waxed is gorgeous.
I swear, I thought I saw a Hot Chocolate R56 MC yesterday (in NJ), just driving around like a normal car. I thought, hmmm, they must’ve come out in the coupes too?! Maybe it was pre-production tester, but why for just a color update? Maybe I’ll see it again?!
Bah… who needs a brown MINI?
yes… but is there any word about interior improvements?
I have a Brown MINI and guess what? I LOVE IT!
dc11r: I drove last week a new 2009 R56 S auto dealer loaner and I can tell you that nothing significant has changed for 2009. The only differences I saw was newly shaped front seat headrests (To improve whiplash protection but they tend to be uncomfortable) and MINI has relocated the AUX input jack underneath the center console to make it easier to find. Oh and the MSFW buttons are all white (Versus the black background found in the 2008s). Aside from that (And probably a missing cigarrette lighter) everything is pretty much 2007-2008 carryover.
Not until the “facelift” 2010 or 2011 models arrive, you will see some significant improvements in and out. Keep your eyes peeled during June-July 2009 as the 2010 models will be knocking on the door.
Brown is good. Primary will always be BRG though.
nice color, I wish it was around when I bought my 09 coupe.
oh boy. we get a smaller tootsie roll. I’ll pass.
All colors for all models! Let the masses buy what they want…
Matt
^ agree – the more color options, the better… and I don’t like the model restrictions: how many people buy a cabrio vs. a coupe vs. a Clubman because of the color availability?
Probably not as many as leave the dealer unhappy ’cause they had to settle for a different color than the one they saw and liked on a different model.
I wonder if MINI will ever offer a pure white. Pepper white is not bad, but too ecru for me. I really like the new horizon blue. I also wonder if white will ever be a roof option for the Clubman. I remember some post about it “looking odd” with white, but I think it’d be brilliant.
I second all colors for all MINIs!!
i cant decide on a 2010 JCW in all white, or gunmetal with silver top (silver top would be custom painted of course a la clubman)
Agree 100% Might have liked brown but S is more important
but didn’t I read the the convert S will NOT be getting the coco treatment? 🙁
I agree, all colors for all models. I have to admit though, I’m not a real fan of brown.
