MINI’s own magazine MINI International and their blog MINI Space is at the Bread & Butter fashion show this week in Barcelona along with the MINI Crossover Concept. Check it out below.
I’m starting to fear that they’re trying to convince us that this is an excellent design study. I sure hope that the final is different from the “concept”…
Trying to convince you? Like they all decided “well this really sucks” but instead of coming up with a “good” design (ie one that will satisfy some dude named Matt) they threw they lot to posing like it was good…
MINI needs to make MINI International more about the cars and less about some of the trendy people associated with the brand and the few that drive them. I remember when I got my free preview issue I couldn’t help but feel a lot of the content I was looking at was both predictable and somewhat shallow.
Wow lavardera, someone piss is your wheaties today? In case you’re unaware, one can do “blanket” marketing to increase familiarity and acceptance of a product, good or bad…. OR one can do design studies and guage reaction, or both…
With the softroader concept, there’s only been one. With the Clubbie, there were what, three or so? Anyway, it’s my fear that they’re doing the blanket technique to increase acceptance of what many consider to be some questionable design decisions… Like the totally unoriginal “FJ” treatment of the roof line at the rear quarter windows…
I’m not so arrogent to suppose that my opinion matters more than any other two new Mini owners. But then again, it doesn’t matter any less either, does it?
I’m sure they don’t think they are marketing over questionable design decisions. Sorry to rub your fur the wrong way, but in your first comments the whole idea that they are covering for themselves comes across like there is no world view but your own. I’m just calling you on it.
Gee, anyone who expresses an opinion then would fall under your critical eye. Thank you for protecting the masses from the opinions of the individual. Make sure you continue to call everyone out who dares to actually voice what they think…. I’ll sleep better at night knowing that you’re looking after us all!
the crossover looks like its been shrunk in that picture – a little photoshop to make it look the size of a coupe

Yeah, I noticed that and find it kinda ironic and hilarious that they shrunk the new bigger MINI!!
I was thinking the same thing. It looks smaller than my R50.

Yep, that seems real plausible Matt.
I noticed a Clubman parked beside a Toyota Rav4 and the Clubman looked a lot smaller.
