Another fantastic interview with the head of MINI design, Gert Hildebrand. You want to pay special attention to this one, especially when Gert starts talking colors.

Please make a olive green Mini!!!!

hopefully they will bring some sort of new green for next year.

Likely another blue ;)

Actually would be happy to see a non-metallic green of some sort, pretty sure however that the BRG will not be it since on the WC50.

Well, one small phrase explains a lot. Gert said that the JCW WC50 was a very fast excersize. I guess that’s why it was a bolt on job with only a new color.

Matt

Great interview! Nice to hear confirmation on what I already suspected about special colours making their way down the rest of the product line after a few years!

Gert sounds like a top bloke. Always good to hear that the guy in charge has a passion for Mini and a strong appreciation of the brand.

Can’t believe no one has mentioned Gert’s comparison of the design on the S-Lite or Minilite wheels to sausages.

Anyway, I got a kick out of that.

There are some great sound bites in there and some fun clues of things to come.

@Todd: Yeah I heard that – pretty funny stuff. And the mention of MINI possibly getting a non-metallic green is very interesting.

Who is the dude in the background in the red/black pit crew shirt? I saw these shirts for sale on ebay from Thailand. So I bought one! Good quality and not available in official MINI range.
