Official Release: Today kicks off the 3rd annual Motor-Tober celebration, MINI’s made-up holiday that lasts the entire month of October.
Motor-Tober is about enjoying horsepower and go-kart handling, saving money with great deals and celebrating for the sake of celebrating. MINI’s October marketing campaign focuses on capturing autumn fun with witty ads and MINI gear, encouraging test drives and events at dealerships nationwide, aggressive financing on all 2009 models as well as special lease pricing on select 2009 inventory.
“MINI wants to celebrate the ramp-up to the winter holiday season, which is usually a stressful time, and make it a time to thoroughly enjoy motoring,†said Jim McDowell, Vice President, MINI USA. “Nothing says exhilaration like getting behind the wheel of a MINI, and our Motor-Tober celebration encourages customers to do just that.â€
Through November 2nd, MINI will offer 1.9 percent financing for up to 60 months on the purchase of any new 2009 MINI vehicle. Additionally, lease rates as low as $259 per month will be available on select 2009 inventory, making now the time for customers to visit their local dealer for some of the year’s best deals.
MINI dealers all over the U.S. will join in the Motor-Tober spirit by hosting local test drive events that encourage customers to spend time behind the wheel of the entire MINI lineup, including the Hardtop, Convertible and Clubman models. There will even be Motor-Tober temporary tattoos and pumpkin-carving stencils available to visitors.

Ack. I was just in my dealer today, but didn’t see the templates. My wife-a self-proclaimed MINI widow-would have loved (wink) carving MINI themed pumpkins this year.

My wife just got the email about our local dealership’s annual day on the go-kart track with our MINIs… and theirs. Can’t complain, for a fictitious holiday it is interesting to see how each dealership handles it.

So MFs editorial position is that now is “the time for customers to visit their local dealer for some of the year’s best deals”? Cuz that sounds like MINI marketing talk to me.

Yay! The Motor-Tober Events are awesome. We met Gabe at the Westchester MINI event at the first Motor-Tober, and then went to out first drive-in movie with Prestige MINI. Last year we went on a foliage drive.

Gabe, any way to compile a list for MF readers once details start rolling in? Thanks!

I went to my MINI Dealership yesterday up in Morristown for a routine check-up. They told me that they will be holding their Motor-Tober event on Oct 18th at about 10:00 a.m. I attended the rally last year, got some free food and then we ended up somewhere in Chatam. Then got lost in the corn maze.

@ that.guy

Reread the first two words of the MF article.

@NealStangis…. I agree! Geesh!

I’ve never seen nor been contacted for a MotorTober event at my local dealer MINI of Monrovia here in SoCal? Losers!

Sorry, my bad. I missed the first two words but read the last 3.
