Yesterday BMW won the 24 Hours of the Nurburgring in a dramatic performance. How about MINI? Well there was the MINI Challenge race and then of course the MINI E doing a lap around the ‘Ring. But what about the actual 24 Hours of Nurburgring? There were a handful of MINIs at the race but unfortunately for the R53 above, only one immortalized on youtube the morning after.

that looked like the Mini’s fault to me. wonder what they were talking about afterwards.

Check your blind spots…

Totally the mini drivers fault. That couldve easily avoided.

The look civil about it until the last seconds, the one drive starts calling him out for it.

I love the 1-Series hatchback!! Why can’t we have it in the US?! It looks so much better and is so much more functional than the coupe. 135i hatch, anyone? OMG, yes!

That’s unfortunate… and i agree it looks pretty clear from the vid that the MINI driver changed his line without looking to see if anyone was to his left, broadsiding the 1. :(

@ that.guy – put me down for loving the 1 hatch. Shame not sold here in Canada (or US). Mexico gets it and I’ve seen a 5-door hatch at the U regularly with MX plates. Maybe we’ll get the gen2 car in hatch form?

Sorry nay sayers, when bad things happen to MINI it is always the fault of the BMW!

Er… To his right. Oh boy that’s probably where it all went wrong! ;)

Uhnglaubich!

You need to watch from an alternate angle to understand what really happened here. It seems MINI drivers are easily distracted…

@chris – watched the clip… Wow now I see what distracted the MINI driver! He couldn’t help having a bit of a closer “look see”… ;)
