Yahoo! Autos has a story today featuring what vehicles car thieves tend to leave alone. Among the least popular boosted rides is the MINI Cooper Clubman. Not only is the instance of theft low, the reported average insurance claim payout is considerably lower than the rest of the list. This isn’t too surprising. Given all the electronics in the MINI’s ignition systems, you pretty much can’t steal a MINI without the keys or a tow truck. So rest assured, your Clubman is unlikely to go anywhere without you.

Haven’t regretted the purchase a bit — it’s been a great car with a “fun to drive” factor that was a cut above anything available in its price-class at the time.

But the new Mini makes the Focus feel like a really boring “slug” 😉

ScumBags are VERY discriminating!

I think there is a very good reason for this and that reason is not necessarily the good security systems!

I had mine broken into and a cheap mp3 player with very bad music stolen. A real professional thief …
