MINI Successful at Nürburgring 24 Hours
Competitors spend months preparing for what is possibly the most challenging endurance race in the world. The performance of the car is optimised. The driving crew comes up with an elaborate plan to determine the order, in which they will take to the iconic track in order to achieve maximum success at the 24-hour race.

So 40% of the MINIs entered were unable to stay running for 24 hours and this is a success? ;-)

In a massive endurance race? Yeah, that’s a success.

Not to self: do not run the MINI hard for 24 hours.

Yes. Do not run your mini in the rain and fog and around 100s of other race cars on the most demanding track in the world through the dark for 24 hours if you don’t want to chance it.

It would be interesting to know what caused those two MINIs to drop out. Is that information available?

From what I could gather from their site(translated from German), the one was engine failure. The other sounded like a leaking exhaust manifold which melted the plastic and hoses around it causing an oil leak. Seems they finally had to call it about a half hour before the end of the race.

Not true at all. If you’d looked a little deeper beyond the press release you would see that the ONLY DNFs in the MINI’s class were the two MINIs that failed to finish. This press release is a pretty desperate attempt to make a silk purse from a sow’s ear.

That being said, I discovered your site about two weeks ago and I am totally hooked – love your in depth analysis of the spy info re: the next MINI.

Who were the top 3 winners?
