The chaps at Jalopnik shared a story this week so improbable and wonderful that we just had to share it here. Apparently an Australian company (read family of Australian Mini Moke fans) have gotten the ball rolling to produce reproduction Mini Mokes in China.
These cars will feature a few modern touches such as lighting and seating, but will otherwise be pure Moke underneath. Exciting? Sure. Trouble is these vehicles will never be available for sale anywhere in the world with modern safety regs (sorry EU and USA). Even still, we have to admire their gumption.
Get the full story over at Jalopnik. (and kudos to the Lop for a great headline on this story)

These used to be available from Mini Mania in the US. They stopped selling them in 2010. Good to see that they’re still alive.

I’ve imported Honda CT-110s from Australia before, brought them in as farm equipment and then had them certified by the State Patrol to get them licensed. I wonder if one could do something like that with these?
