When our long term cars test cars go back to MINI they get washed, waxed, refurbished and sold to a new owner. And during this process we lose track of where the car goes and who it ends up with. However thanks to MF reader John Calder we now know where our JCW Roadster test car ultimately ended up.
Our 2012 MINI JCW Roadster is currently in the showroom at MINI of Mt. Laurel in New Jersey. The fully loaded Roadster (originally $48k) is being sold for $34,290 with 24,000 miles on the odometer.
It’s with some bittersweet feelings that we now look on our roadster. Of all our test cars it was the only one we seriously thought about buying after our time with the car. However it’s also great to see the old car again. And great knowing that it’ll end up with a true enthusiast looking for the ultimate open top MINI.
To read all of our various reports on the car head over to the MotoringFile Garage.

As a reader, it did seem like you had more adventures in the Roadster than any test MINI to date.

Along this line, it will be interesting to see how many of the Motoringfile and WRR members are enchanted enough to buy a F56 this calendar year.

I so want the (mythological?) next gen Roadster.

You’ve gotta be kidding! $48k is a ridiculous amount to spend on any MINI and particularly this odd fellow.

It was a long term test car, Motoringfile didn’t pay for the car. If you were to get a MINI for a year at no cost you would load it with everything too!

and drive it like you stole it.

which is why nobody should buy this ticking time bomb

it’s a nice thing you guys cleaned the car for the photo
