EVO Reviews the F55 Cooper S (Video)
For your weeekend to be complete, MotoringFile recommends watching at least one MINI related video. Fortunately for you, we’ve got you covered. Our colleagues at EVO recently reviewed the F55 Cooper S and similar to the F56, the verdict is quite positive. The ride is confortable but precise and responsive. The manual gearbox is a joy to shift. And the car is just too much fun to drive on the track. While the reviewer only has praises for MINI Engineers, he doesn’t seem to appreciate as much the work MINI Interior Designers did. Note that we strongly disagree with this last point. One more detail; EVO kept on refering to “the previous generation” which is somehow innacurate given that the foor-door didn’t exist then. In any case, enjoy the review and have a great weekend!
<p>My thunder Gray F55S (the Gray Ghost) with the Two Tone Roulette wheels was expected to arrive at the U.S. port yesterday the 13th & hopefully should be at my Fl dealership by late this week or certainly before Christmas! Based on that timetable it will have taken about 7 weeks from my order to delivery.
Ordered it with most of the bells & whistles (but no sun roof) which added about 12K to the base price. Will be my 3rd MINI after an ’08 MCS & ’12 JCWCoupe.</p>

<p>The longer wheelbase and bigger greenhouse seem to work better with the extended nose than on the hatch. But as the tester said “you can almost forgive the rear end design – almost”. The cartoonishly scaled tail lights are still a deal breaker to me.</p>

<p>Sounds like we may be on the same ship. My f56 cooper s thunder gray two door is expected at my dealership soon too. Was supposed to dock on the 15th but they told me today it’s delayed by recent storms until probably the 19th.</p>
<p>The large tail lights on the F55/F56 don’t bother me either. It’s all subjective. Some like it. some don’t/ May even be more in proportion on the longer F55 compared to the F56.
An update on my Thunder Gray F55S…it’s been at the Brunswick, Ga port since last Sun the 14th but, as of today hasn’t been picked up by the trucking co. yet per my Fl. dealer info. Still hoping for dealer delivery before Christmas.j</p>
