BimmerFile & MotoringFile have tested various Teslas three times over the past five years. We’ve commuted, tracked and generally been in awe of the electric vehicle maker’s products. But those cars were all leading to something bigger, faster and even more efficient. And we have the keys to all 691 hp of it.
691 hp with a 0-60 time of 3.2 seconds, the P85D is the ultimate expression of electric power. Is this the future of performance cars? So many questions. Luckily we have four days and a three state road-trip ahead of us.
Before we take off what do you want to know about the world’s fastest production electric car? Hit us up in the comments below.

MINI E vs Tesla. Any comparison thoughts?

I think I know all there is to know……I can’t afford one. Of course even if I could, trips to Northern Michigan would just bring on range anxiety. Oh sure it’s fast, but otherwise it’s more of a computer on wheels than something fun to drive isn’t it, maybe answer that question (it doesn’t look like there is much interest in it based on this comments section).

Sounds like you already decided that you don’t want to like it for some reason (care to elaborate?).

Gabe has previously written impressions (not a full review) on his other site:http://www.bimmerfile.com/2013/07/01/quick-spin-quick-thoughts-on-the-tesla-model-s/

Sure I can elaborate….

It’s not that I don’t want to like it, really. It’s that it doesn’t matter if I like it, there isn’t one in my future (at least not a Model S).

There doesn’t appear to be much interest over on bimmerfile’s companion article where there are just 2 comments as I write this, I expected more interest over there too though.

I really enjoy Gabe’s writing and his opinions so I’ll read his impressions because they tend to be well thought out and insightful. BUT my interest in things I view as too expensive (for me) has fallen off. I’d much rather read more about the long term F56S Gabe has, or the new Cooper. But that’s just me. Hopefully I’m more polite than the comment below this one, I don’t think of them as appliances (Toyota’s own that market)

Another BUT: Gabe, have a great time on the road trip in the Tesla, I’d love to go along .

Nothing. We don’t give a fuck about home appliances.

Is all that power fun without the noise?
