Head of Design Anders Warming has left MINI. Anders took over from Gert Hildebrand (who led MINI Design from 2001 to 2011) with enormous enthusiasm and a new direction best seen in the MINI Superleggera concept car.
The current range of F56 MINIs were developed largely under Hildebrand with Warming instead leading much of the F54 Clubman and F60 Countryman design. His impact has largely yet to be seen given the length of automotive design cycles.
We don’t have details yet but it would appear that Ander’s departure was rather unexpected given that no successor has been lined up as of the moment. We’ll have details as we have them.

Wow that was rather quick (and sounds like unexpected). I thought he was trying hard to clean up the over-compliated design elements of 3rd gen cars. Looked like the new Clubman, Superleggera concept were showing that improvement.

Yea, I think the new Clubman is a stellar looking car
