Gallery: The MINI Countryman Debut at the LA Auto Show

Last week in LA MINI held its official public debut for the Countryman showing both the standard and the hybrid version of the crossover. While we’ll be giving you our initial take of the car soon, we wanted to bring to you the raw photos of both the celebrity filled special event debut and the auto show booth display from the day after.
Does the orange have a specific color name ? Really like it!

It looks similar to my previous MINI, a 2012 JCW Coupe. That color was called Spicey Orange. But the closest color to that I’ve seen on the New Countryman is called Chestnut. Don’t know if this orange is that color.

Chestnut inside as well I believe.

Technical note: you guys have the only photo gallery I’ve seen on the internet in the past several years where you have to click the back button then click on the next thumbnail (as opposed to navigating from full screen photo to full screen photo with arrow keys or icons). Quite irritating to say the least.

It’s been an ongoing issue for a year now. It’s been extremely frustrating trying to fix.

Despite the second inner chrome trim on the grille, making it look too much like a ‘sad clown’s mouth’, we’re smitten with the new Countryman. It’s the right car, at the right time. With MINI global sales set to reach around 360k this year, the new Countryman should help to take that nearer to 400k next year, even allowing for the Countryman poaching some Clubman sales. Love the Chestnut colour.

Attended San Francisco Int’l Car show yesterday and MINI wasn’t at show. This is the first time since the BMW made new Gen MINI came to the US (2002) that MINI did not have any of their cars on display at show, not even a booth. Very surprised.
