Worldwide MINI sales continue their rise with January seeing 7% growth compared with the same month last year. The brand delivered a total of 20,929 vehicles to customers in January with the Countryman being the primary growth driver.
The Countryman doubled its sales compared to January last year. A total of 6,022 customers took delivery of this model in the month, with one out of seven choosing the plug-in hybrid version of the car.
It’s interesting to see the world market seemingly unaffected by the continuing stagnation or decline of the US market.
Latin America was especially strong last month with sales up over 16%.
<p>It’s not just Latin America – MINI CANADA had its best-ever January, with sales up +11% compared to January 2017. Of all new MINIs sold in Canada in January, 46% were equipped with the ALL4 all-wheel drive system. Other customers in January were clearly dreaming of spring as January 2018 was the best month ever for sales of MINI Convertibles, up +56% versus the previous year.</p>
