Despite a highly competitive market, global MINI sales reached 22,859 units worldwide in August: an increase of 6.2%. The updated 300 hp JCW Countryman and Clubman made a material impact to those numbers according to BMW. Not surprising given the dramatic performance improvement they’ve made over the previous models.
It will be telling to see how MINI can maintain this momentum heading into 2020 and the introduction of the all electric Cooper SE.
Sales for the year to date totalled 223,238, down 2.6%.

Gabe….I guess that 6.2% increase in Aug helped by the 301 hp Countryman and Clubman must be mostly from countries outside of the US (except for dealer lot purchases which now have some of those models). The build for those 2 new 2020 models is still absent from the miniusa.com site…now 1/2 way thru Sep. Latest I’ve heard is the build should arrive the build site by the end of Sep. Hmmm! I’m awaiting to build the 2020 JCW Countryman soon after it appears on the site.

As am I….same vehicle, 2020 JCW Countryman. That is bloody annoying that I can’t build it yet.

2020 JCW’s now on the MINI website. Build away!

Good news! 60,000 pre-registered expressions of interest in the MINI SE have now been received. It’s the first time that MINI has run a pre-sales programme and sales are well ahead of where the company expected them to be, according to MINI’s boss Bernd Körber.
