The test many of us have been waiting for. Which is faster; the all electric MINI Cooper SE or the petrol powered MINI Cooper? RybrookTV took both to a go-kart track in the UK to find out.
We’ve spoken about it previously on MF but will say it again. The most shocking thing about the all electric MINI Cooper SE is how it feels even more natural for the MINI brand than the petrol powered version. With more weight lower in the chassis and a perfect 50/50 distribution, the SE is the best balanced MINI we’ve ever driven. Add to that the instantaneous torque and you have something immediately engaging. Exactly what you want in a MINI.
I’m actually really looking forward to the electric MINI. Especially with the incentives in the US. It would be perfect for my 40 mile round trip commute to work.
What better way to show off the go-kart handling of the MINI Cooper SE than on a go-kart track – brilliant idea and it worked.
By the way, owing to the unforeseen association with Covid-19, the optional 17″ Corona Spoke wheels exclusive to the Cooper SE have now been renamed Power Spoke.
