Global MINI sales rose back above the 300,000 mark in 2021 with a total of 302,144 vehicles delivered to customers. that’s more than a 3.3 percent more than in 2020 despite massive supply shortages.

Interestingly, around 17 percent of these vehicles had an electrified drive train. But even more interesting is that one in ten MINI customers opted for the an electric MINI with 34,851 units sold. That actually made the all elelctric MINI Cooper SE is the brand’s highest-volume model for 2021, delivering growth of 98.2 percent worldwide.

That bodes well for the brand’s strategy of becoming all electric in the early 2030s. With the next generation Hatch and Countryman offering both electric and petrol power it will be fascinating to see how these figures change in the years ahead.
